Behind the scenes: moments where work and life crossed paths.

Turin is turning itself into the world capital of Art. The GAM is hosting two monumental retrospectives dedicated to Man Ray and Alighiero Boetti. The city is buzzing. I am here thanks to my work on the exhibitions. Of those days, two moments remain etched in my memory: the entrance of Marella Agnelli with a group of friends, whose legendary aura proves itself in full, and a reception at the private residence of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, for an exclusive post-vernissage. The home, richly hung with works of art, is dense with whispers, glances and style. There are no images of these events online, and mobile phones could only make and receive calls, and little more. At the end of the evening, while waiting for a taxi back to the hotel, I am not alone: beside me, with the exact same need, Arnaldo Pomodoro, whom I address out of courtesy. Away from the formalism of his celebrated role, Pomodoro turns out to be exquisitely warm. Days later I tell the story to my mother’s beloved and cosmopolitan cousin, and a remarkable detail emerges: another thread connecting Turin to my life, beyond the fact of having been born there. Franca tells me that for his long periods of summer creative isolation in Versilia, essential for overseeing the casting of his celebrated bronzes in the historic foundries of Pietrasanta, Pomodoro used to rent her apartment. An almost cinematic memory, light and perfect, original like the works of Ray and Boetti, which I have loved in a special way ever since.

I joined Mediaset in 1992.
Over 30 years in which I’ve seen network directors, formats, and personalities come and go.
From a technological and media standpoint, we’ve gone from the Middle Ages to The Matrix. Extraordinary years, in which I watched many historic outlets replaced by blogs, social media, podcasts, influencers.
To achieve effective media relations, communication still needs to be “steered”. This is where my passion and experience come in, along with the solidity of a craft that has evolved alongside these changes.
Passion, experience, craft: still, at the heart of every personal and professional initiative I take, even in this new chapter of my life.
Luckily, from the Middle Ages I only kept the rigor and from the Matrix the desire to continue to see beyond the screen.
